THE ROLE
- A one-day insight into working at a pro bono centre and the legal profession for those who are thinking about studying law.
- You will attend a variety of sessions on topics such as what studying law at university is like, careers in law and social justice, and what do lawyers do.
- You will undertake tasks in groups notably reviewing a contract. Other tasks could include legal research, drafting documents, presentations and client interviewing. We will discuss the tasks as a group and provide oral feedback.
- You will have the opportunity to meet and/or speak with our qualified lawyers and caseworker volunteers to learn about their careers and ask any questions you may have about life in the law.
TIME COMMITMENT
- The Insight Scheme will take place over a day in-person at the Living Centre (2 Ossulston Street, Kings Cross, London, NW11 DF), the Law Corner’s base. You will meet your fellow Insight Scheme students and spend the day at the Living Centre.
- The programme is generally scheduled for 10am to 3pm on a weekend day.

- Sixth form and A-level students who are thinking of studying law.

Q: Which programme am I best suited to: the Internship Programme, the Work Experience Programme, or the Insight Scheme?

If you are a GDL graduate or a law student in your second year or above, you are best suited to our Internship Programme.

If you are a first-year law student, a GDL student, or a non-law student or graduate, please apply to our Work Experience Programme.

If you are at school (GCSE, sixth form, or A-Level), please apply to our Insight Scheme.
Q: Is there an interview process for the Insight Scheme?
A: No, there is no interview process for the Insight Scheme.
Q: Do you consider applications on a rolling basis?
A: No. We will review all the applications once the deadline has passed.
Q: How long will it take to hear back on whether my application has been successful or not?
A: We will aim to let you know whether or not you have been successful with your application within two weeks after the deadline has passed. However, this may take longer depending on the team’s availability and the number of applications we receive.
